Muhammad Iqbal Kholidin (commonly known as Iqbal Kholidin) is a researcher at the Association for Elections and Democracy (Perludem). He earned his bachelor's degree in Government Studies from Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. His research focuses on electoral democracy, electoral systems and governance, political representation, and public policy. Since joining Perludem in 2024, he has been involved in a wide range of quantitative and qualitative research projects, including electoral system simulations, electoral data analysis, the development of election databases, the evaluation of electoral system design, and the formulation of evidence-based policy recommendations. He is one of the authors of the Indonesia Election Archive, published in Scientific Data (Nature Portfolio), and has authored numerous scholarly articles, books, research reports, policy briefs, and opinion pieces published in academic journals as well as national and international media outlets. In addition to his research activities, he actively disseminates research findings through academic forums, policy discussions, the media, and international election observation initiatives.
